The thinking behind Barber and Osgerby’s Axor One shower control unit was to combine various, independent bathroom functions into one central device. By consolidating many individual controls – water outlet activation, volume, regulation and temperature control – into one simple element, both the appearance and functionality of this aspect of the bathroom would be optimised.
The temperature is set by turning the central dial, while a small lever directly below it regulates the water volume. The flow of water is activated and deactivated by tapping the paddles, which are clearly indicated by symbols illustrating the specific water outlets (overhead, hand, side shower or bathtub filler) that can be operated by the user. This type of control was the first of its kind when it launched in early 2015.
