On & On seating family

Year 2019
Manufacturer Emeco

Legibly referencing the iconic bentwood café chairs of the 1930s, the On & On Chair is part of a series that also includes a bar stool and a counter height stool. All are made from 70% recyclable PET, strengthened with 20% glass fibre and coloured using 10% non-toxic pigment, meaning that each piece can be recycled at the end of its life - Emeco is at the forefront of developing furniture made from environmentally friendly materials, its ultimate aim being closed loop recycling.

While being extremely tough and hard-wearing, the chair is designed to use as little material as possible, making it visually lightweight, as well as in terms of its physical heft. The efficiency of the rotational stacking - which requires the backrest to be thin enough for one chair to nestle neatly inside the next - further reduces the product’s carbon footprint when shipping.
